LDP training rotations occur in the following phases:
Phase I – Production… or “Getting Your Hands Dirty”
It is a core belief at CGX that before you can become a leader in management, sales, technology, or whatever career track you choose for yourself you have to know and understand the commercial printing process. This phase allows you to learn our trade and actually see where the rubber meets the road… or in our case, the ink meets the paper. You will work on complex machines and learn the processes that physically take a job through the shop: electronic prepress and digital files, press room, bindery, shipping and fulfillment. So, put on a t-shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers that you don’t mind completely ruining, and jump right in.
Phase II – Business Fundamentals
In this phase you will spend time in “front office” rotations learning about Estimating, Purchasing, Accounting, and Customer Service. Having learned how a job is physically printed, bound, and shipped it is during these rotations that you will learn how a customer’s order works its way through your company. How are you going to improve efficiencies and build relationships with customers that help determine the profitability of your company?
Phase III – Leadership Training
Now that you’ve spent time learning the ins-and-outs of commercial printing it’s time for you to choose your career path. Do you have what it takes to lead a multi-million dollar company, or do you want to partner with new customers to make sure the presses keep turning? Maybe you want to join our technology team and become a product manager that develops new solutions and opportunities for CGX companies and their customers. If working with numbers excites you than a career as a controller managing a company’s financial well-being might be for you. In the end, you get to choose which career opportunity suits you best.
